due date

Pinpointing and stimulating specific acupressure points on the feet and ankles encourages the body toward a contraction response and is often useful to avoid induced labour. When points are located and stimulated correctly, the contraction response can happen in two to three days following treatment. (please understand, this is not a guarantee!).

Due Date Reflexology is generally only available if you are 40 weeks and 4 days + however it is common now for maternity medics and hospital support to avoid pregnancies continuing any further than past the due date given to you so, depending on your personal circumstances, treatment can be conducted at 40 weeks. I recommend attending sessions in my Birth Preparation Plan for the weeks leading up to your due date as this allows for your body to gently embrace the sensations and benefits of holistic approaches moving into labour.

Diện Chẩn: Facial Acupressure to encourage labour

Maternity Facial Acupressure is a gentle yet intensely relaxing therapy using Diện Chẩn acupressure techniques, based on traditional Vietnamese face mapping, which can be incredibly useful in helping to encourage labour.

Stimulating specific acupressure points on the face can help encourage a contraction response in the body and this is why Acupressure is often thought useful to avoid induced labour. For a lot of women, it is often more preferable to Acupuncture as it is non invasive - it does not puncture the skin - and produces similar results. Many of my clients attend with me when they found Acupuncture to be too invasive and clinical for them and find greater benefit in gentle acupressure. When points are stimulated correctly, the contraction response can happen in two to three days following treatment (again, this is not a guarantee!).

Like Reflexology, Maternity Facial Acupressure is generally only available if you are 40 weeks and 4 days + however depending on your personal circumstances, treatment can be conducted at 40 weeks. I recommend attending sessions in my Birth Preparation Plan for the weeks leading up to your due date. After treatment, I will provide simple, quick and easy individually tailored and specifically designed acupressure techniques to apply at home in the days following your session.

If you are over your due date I understand that there is a sense of urgency and you may be looking for a last minute appointment. The session below is for online bookings only so if you cannot find availability in these appointments that suits your date, please get in touch and I will do my best to arrange a suitable date and time.

A Special Delivery
One of my clients, Stephanie*, attended Maternity Reflexology sessions during her 2nd trimester and then my Birth Preparation Plan in the weeks leading up to her due date. She was keen to avoid being induced and attended a Due Date Reflexology session, giving birth to her healthy baby 48 hours later. Read more about Stephanie's experience in my blog post, A Special Delivery.
